Ha Long Bay selected among top ten natural wonders of Asia
Vietnam’s Ha Long Bay has been chosen as one of Asia’s ten most attractive places by US-based Allwomenstalk website.
Ha Long Bay, one of top ten Asia's natural wonder
Allwomenstalk said that Ha Long Bay might well be one of the most photographed natural wonders of Asia, but that doesn’t make it any less worthy, beautiful or interesting. The bay is characterized by nearly 2,000 monolithic limestone islands covered with jungle vegetation poking out of tropical waters. Some of the islands are actually hollow and many of them feature grottoes, caves, lakes and some gloriously secluded beaches. There’s also a diverse range of wildlife and birds on the islands.
Ha Long Bay has been twice recognized as the World Natural Heritage by UNESCO. It was also voted as one of the world’s seven New Wonders of Nature by the New7Wonder Foundation in 2012.
Besides Ha Long Bay of Vietnam, the nine destinations on Allwomenstalk’s list include the Chocolate Hills of the Philippines, K2 Mountain of Pakistan, Gobi Desert of Mongolia, marble rocks of India, natural forest park of Zhangjiaje, China, Kampung Kuatan Fireflies of Malaysia, heaven lake in north Korea/China, Pak Ou caves of Laos and Sigirya of Srilanka./.
